In every Hindu family, they will have a family deity, accompanied by a temple to which that deity is associated. I will narrate here some of my life's thrilling experiences that indicate the importance of one's family deity.
I don't want to disclose the exact event and place but more or less it happened in below manner.
Every sadhaka will have some attraction to a Personal God called Ishta and sometimes a chosen Guru.
These are very important aspects of one's sadhana.
But along with this, sadhakas and people in general tend to ignore the importance of family deity & why it is important.
Long ago I was also not attaching much importance to family deity worship. More than that, I felt that my personal God should have been the family deity and wanted to have such scenarios.
But slowly yet steadily, I realized why family deity especially its name is very important in critical situations of life.
The first incident occurred in 2004. Actually many incidents like this happened before but this one clearly showed the importance.
In 2004, I was in Tambaram in a rented house. The owner who are old couple lived couple of streets away in a somewhat corner house surrounded by two small bungalow type farm houses. The area will be very dark and bit aloof with thick dense trees in both the nearby houses.
That particular night, I went to give the rent amount in person. They are old traditional people, they don't encourage NEFT and other online transactions.
Now as I went there, I called the old owner's name, he is old, he will not hear properly, there is no calling bell in the outer gate. I called him several times but he did not respond. Meanwhile hearing my sound there was a small dog in one of the neighboring house, that started barking at me.
Initially I thought the dog is tied, so I continued to still call the owner.
Suddenly that small dog came until the gate of the neighbor's house and started pushing through the gate. The situation went out of control, the dog tried to come out through the small opening at the bottom of the gate grill, between the earth and the gate.
Seeing the imminent danger, I called at the top of my voice my family deitie's name almost involuntarily. I have not chanted the family deity name in any japa form before. I have chanted my personal god's name many times but not my family deity.
Now for no logical reason , I cried at top of my voice, because the situation is out of control. The moment I uttered the name couple of times, the dog subsided a bit, still vigorous, but still some strange difference in its earlier rude aggressiveness . The owner of the neighbor house came out almost immediately now, she cannot understand what name I uttered. Because my family deity name is not really famous, it is a village temple which only local people know. She was irritated at my stupidity, seems this lady neighbor and my owner are not in good terms, any case she was irritated at my cowardly cry and somehow took her dog inside.
The Lesson Learnt:
No matter whether you believe or not, no matter if you had earlier practiced the japa of your family deity name, no matter if you have a personal God or not, there is some power invested in your family deity's name that is available to you ready made to invoke in dangerous, out of control situations. Now this power is invested by constant worship generation after generation by your forefathers.
You carry it in your semen, you carry it in your nerves and biological structure. You carry this in your blood. It is available to you ready, and this will never fail to work.
It will definitely reduce the intensity of the critical situation and bring it under control.
My recent experiment
I now quote one remarkable experiment I purposefully did recently
Many notable miracles happened in between 2004 and 2015 which I will write about later.
I had a very tough manager recently , who is very egoistic and who used to harass me a lot. Fortunately that project was ended in premature , it was my release date on that particular Friday from that project.
I finished all formalities when suddenly I received a ping from this guy that I want to talk to you. He is such a character to abuse and create last minute issues so I was very nervous.
While entering the discussion room, seeing his face I again invoked my family deity name sincerely asking for protection from this guy.
The nature of talk went in general mode and all along I felt some subtle force was entering the whole scene and insulating me from troubled & heated discussions. Though here and there he did show his anger, overall it was a concluding discucssion and at the end of it, I walked freely from this man , released from that assignment and from any more troubles. I thanked my family deity and especially the power the name contained.
In coming weeks, I will illustrate many other examples and the deep insight into this phenomenon.
